TOP OF THE CLASS - THE WINNERS!
What a gig!
11 bands battled it out to be crowned YROCK's best young band in Scotland, and MALUS PUER WIN!
The Banchory boys become the first ever YROCK Top Of The Class champions and walk away with a brand spanking new Marshall Stack, as well as £250 McCormacks music vouchers. Kitted out - I think so.
The standard throughout the day was incredible. The pace was electric with just 15 mins per set. The pressure was on (and so was the heat - it was roasting in there), and the crowd were treated to a great day of music.
Second prize went to Glasgow based Vinyl. Congratulations to the boys from Barrhead who take home a 100watt Marshall amp and £150 McCormacks vouchers. Don't spend them all in one place lads! Actually, scratch that. Do spend them all in one place - McCormacks. Otherwise you'd look like fools.
Edinburgh band Sidelock took the third prize of a 50watt Marshall amp and £100 McCormacks vouchers. Extra kudos for being the most style conscious band of the day - with matching white outfits they clearly dazzled the judges!
Marshall mini stacks were awarded as bonus prizes to the following bands - The Floor, The Escape, In The Attack, and The Jackanoories, all of who impressed the judges greatly.
Let us not forget the further four bands who competed - for they are winners also. Each proved themselves in their individual heats by triumphing over four other bands. So congratulations to The Jury, An End To It All, In Adaras Oceans, and The Confidantes. You battled well.
