alavano new

Alavano (previously Ruff Angel) are a Glasgow based modern rock band formed by frontman Alan Adams in May 2011. Their unique sound is influenced by the rock gods of yesteryear, done in a fresh way to appeal to a large range of listeners. Their songs, with catchy hooks and good lyrics, have the potential to be as popular as anything in the charts today, whilst also keeping old school rock fans interested; their big choruses are sure to have people singing along.

Alavano have played at King Tut's Wah Wah Hut in Glasgow three times since they started playing gigs in October 2011, and headlined the renowned venue this June.

Over the past year, Alavano have amassed a considerable following with a wide age range of fans. Their songs have been played on local radio stations, and the band were recently featured in the Glasgow Evening Times, Stef Lach deeming them "mighty impressive".

You can keep up to date with what Alavano are up to on Facebook and Youtube, and check the guys out on the 28th of September at the O2 ABC2 in Glasgow. Tickets available from Ticketweb.

Cami's New Single "Superhero"

Cami is a 23 year old female singer/songwriter from Glasgow.

Picking up a guitar for the first time at the age of 12, Cami quickly taught herself basic chords and combined her passion for guitar with her natural vocal gift.

Spending many hours in the music department while at school she quickly began writing songs with simple yet catchy rhythmic lines and mature, often profound lyrics.

11 years on Cami has notched up vast amounts of experience - maintaining a love for song-writing and singing, fronting Glasgow pop/punk band "Reality Killed Us" while dedicating equal time to solo projects.

After signing to BY Monster Records for a single release in early 2012, it was very much all systems go - with a release date of July 16th being set for her debut single "Superhero".

The release of the single will be supported by an exclusive launch gig in Glasgow's West End venue Captain's Rest on Thursday 12th July.

Cami will be supported by some of Glasgow's most promising talent, including Jack Ruby's Revolver, Banter and Altered Sky; and will showcase a selection of music she's been working on since going solo and of course the much anticipated single itself.

In the run up to the single release Cami has been working closely with Katie Sutherland (Pearl and the Puppets), as part of Hear Glasgow's mentor programme. This has proven an invaluable experience at such a pivotal point in Cami's musical career and the knowledge Katie has been able to share has helped maintain a momentum in the weeks approaching such an important occasion for the singer/songwriter.

On the back of the upcoming single events taking place, Cami will head straight into the studio and begin work on an 8 track EP, to be released through HMV Glasgow as part of their local artist promotions programme. It is hoped that this offering will be in HMV stores in late autumn and will mark a turning point, offering a platform for Cami's music to reach the masses.

Throughout 2012 Cami is working relentlessly with her team to bring her music to the foreground of the Glasgow scene and will continue to collaborate with producers and fellow artists to break new musical ground and build a name as one of Scotland's most promising talents.

Cami can be seen at Captain's Rest, Glasgow on Thursday 12th July 2012 from 8PM (single launch gig), and at BOX Glasgow on Monday 16th July 2012 (day of single launch).
