Funk 'n' Folk @ The Classic Grand

Well, Celtic Connections is over for another year, but we've had a great time at the festival so, YRock have decided to hold a Folk & Funk evening. It's going to be in the Classic Grand on the 22nd of February and there are some great bands on the line up so come check it out!
Get Tae Funk are a Glasgow based 9 piece instrumental funk group who are sure to bring a unique twist to any event. Formed in 2010, the group are made up of experienced brass and percussion performers, and play everything from current chart hits, classic pop, rock, r’n’b and of course funk!

Barluath are a Scottish Music band based in Glasgow. Made up of five students from the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland, Barluath embrace a wide range of musical styles including Scots and Gaelic Song, Bagpipes, Whistles, fiddle, Guitar, Mandolin, Bass, Clarinet and Piano. With these instruments the band members explore both the Traditional and Contemporary music of Scotland.

CherryGrove are a fresh new band, bursting with talent and producing an exciting, vibrant sound, stimulating songs and titillating tunes, heartfelt and bona fide! Based in Glasgow, CherryGrove are all students of the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland. Some members have been through the National Centre of Excellence in Traditional Music and others being part of other very well known bands. CherryGrove are influenced by a great range of artists and bands of today and yesterday - from Scottish belters to modern masterpieces. We are a modern adaption of a great tradition.

The Murmuration are an folk / indie band from Paisley. They incorporate a variety of different genres and styles in to their music which makes their music very unique.

Yuptae are a young band, hailing from the vibrant music scene in Glasgow's South Side. They play a driving mix of flute, button accordion, banjo and fiddle, all held together with a superb backline of guitar, piano and drums.
